Mongolyn Alt (MAK) LLC today announced the completion and official handover of the newly equipped Surveying Training and Research Laboratory at the School of Geology and Mining Engineering, Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST). The facility, which has been fully refurbished and outfitted with advanced equipment, will carry the name of Mr. Nyamtaishir Byambaa, Founder and Chairman of MAK’s Policy Board, in recognition of his contributions to education and the mining sector.

MAK invested MNT 457 million in the renovation and furnishing of the laboratory, which now features 33 desktop computers and specialized surveying and engineering instruments. Renovation works were completed using MAK’s European-standard construction materials, with doors and windows supplied by MAK Euro Windoor. The company further announced plans to continue supporting the school by renovating its corridors.

Serving more than 1,000 students, the new laboratory will provide a modern environment for both theoretical and practical training. This initiative builds on MAK’s long-standing commitment to developing Mongolia’s future mining professionals through partnership agreements with three universities and six polytechnic colleges nationwide.
As part of its broader strategy to support priority sectors, MAK has also committed over MNT 2 billion to a scholarship program for 100 students at MUST’s School of Energy Engineering. The program provides tuition support, long-term paid internships, and employment opportunities upon graduation.
To date, MAK has implemented more than 100 social responsibility projects, with over MNT 30 billion invested in the education sector alone. Notable initiatives include the construction of schools, kindergartens, and dormitories in Umnugovi, Dornogovi, and Selenge provinces, including an international-standard school in Yuruu soum recognized as a model of educational excellence in Mongolia.
