MAK Ranks No. 2 Among Mongolia’s TOP 100 Enterprises
Mongolyn Alt (MAK) LLC, one of Mongolia’s leading companies in the mining and industrial sectors, has ranked second among group companies in the 2025 TOP 100 Enterprises of Mongolia.
Founded in 1993 with a focus on mineral exploration and mining, MAK has since expanded its operations across seven core sectors: mining and heavy industry, geology and exploration, building materials manufacturing, energy, tourism and hospitality, air transportation, and agriculture.
Over the past 33 years, MAK has contributed MNT 4.8 trillion in taxes and fees to the state and local budgets while creating more than 5,000 stable jobs nationwide. Beyond mining, the company has consistently pursued a value-added development strategy by processing Mongolia’s mineral resources domestically and transforming them into finished products. As part of this commitment, MAK has established and operates seven European-standard building materials plants, supplying high-quality products to the domestic market.
MAK has continuously introduced world-class technologies and international standards across its operations, raising the quality and competitiveness of its products and services.
In the energy sector, the company is independently implementing several major projects aimed at reducing Mongolia’s dependence on imported energy, expanding reliable domestic power generation, and accelerating the transition toward greener industrial production.
As part of these efforts, MAK, in partnership with global technology leader Huawei of China, has successfully implemented 40 MW of solar power generation capacity and 90 MWh of battery energy storage systems. These projects are significantly increasing the use of renewable energy across MAK’s industrial operations, enabling renewable sources to supply approximately 40–90% of the total electricity demand at its factories and mining operations, depending on the site and operating conditions.
Looking ahead, MAK will continue to lead efforts to advance the domestic processing of mineral resources, strengthen Mongolia’s industrial capacity, and create greater value from the country’s natural resources.
